It wasn’t him Charley. It was you. Remember that night in
the garden? You came to my dressing room and said, “Kid, this ain’t your night.
We’re going for the price on Wilson. Ain’t my night!? I could have taken Wilson
apart. So, what happens? He gets a title shot out in the ballpark. And I get a
one-way ticket to Plooka-ville. You’re my brother and you should have looked
out for me a little bit, so I wouldn’t have to take all those dives for the
short end money… You don’t understand! I could’ve had class! I could’ve been a
contender! I could’ve been somebody! Instead of a bum. Which is what I am.
