My name is Brad Freeman. I’ve applied to be a player personnel/coaching intern for; this will be my 5^th year. I have followed the game religiously since I was 6 years old. I’ve written a 150-page book of notes on various schemes throughout the league, and a list of the various coaches that run those schemes. I’ve done all this despite having cerebral palsy, which has given me life experience that’s unmeasurable, and I believe I would be a valued asset to any NFL team that I was a part of.

There’s not much of a reaction to be had…

The Chiefs simply just didn’t show up! They thought they were going to turn it on at the end and the Eagles would just roll over, allowing them to coast to victory. It’s how they’ve been playing for the last 2 or 3 years.

I realize my predictions for the last 5 years have gotten redundant picking my hometown Kansas City Chiefs for the Super Bowl, and the 49ers, or Philadelphia Eagles as their opponents. But the fact of the matter is, anyone who follows the game religiously will tell you the Chiefs, the Niners, and the Eagles are 3 of the best, and youngest teams in the entire league over the last 5 years.

And the Chiefs biggest competition in winning the conference to get to the Super Bowl year in and year out for the last 5 or 6 years has been the Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, and more recently the Miami Dolphins in that order. We seem to play those 4 teams in epic games that decide seeding, home-field advantage, and conference championships. All 4 teams are talented, and young, so that’s why they’re consistently good over a period of time. When teams that have been together a long time get older their championship window closes, and these 4 teams have a long and wide-open window of potential success, along with the Chiefs.

From a schematic standpoint, I've had high school, college, and pro coaches read my 50-100 page book of notes, and love it.

...And from a personal standpoint, I really think I can help the men become better people because of my life experience with cerebral palsy.

Super Bowl LVIII Reaction

Even though this year was a bit rocky, I feel like we backed into the matchup of the 2 best teams in the league this year.

I feel like the NFC is the weaker conference with San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Dallas being the front runners easily in that exact order.

The AFC is a stronger conference because everybody’s got a Quarterback.

The Chiefs as the defending champions should’ve been a lot stronger during the season, but coasted their way through the season. But they ultimately ended up where they should have been, and with the outcome most expected them to have, as being Super Bowl champions back-to-back.

They just had way too many distractions. Taylor Swift, Wide Receiver issues, penalties and/or injuries by the Offensive Tackles. We should have beat teams by 50, but we still won the biggest game of the year. So, as Brett Veach said at the rally, if this is what an off year looks like then I’ll take it.

For the 1^st three quarters of the game, we basically played like we have all year. Pacheco runs the ball, we rely on our strong defense, while Butker is the only player that scores for most of the 2^nd half, and Tommy Townsend our Punter helps us play field position.

I knew it was going to be back and forth all game when both of the star Running Backs for each team fumbled the ball which neither do very often. And then the 49ers busted out trick plays like a throwback pass to Christian McCaffrey for the only touchdown of the 1^st half.

Freak occurrences started to happen. Greenlaw tears his ACL hopping up and down on the sidelines and then running onto the field before the trick pass!? The muffed punt by the Niners that really turned the game in the Chiefs favor in the 2^nd half. The touchdown pass, right afterwards. The Chiefs offense looked like the highflying offense we are used to for a moment, but they still couldn’t punch it in for touchdowns on a regular basis until overtime. The Niners kept sacking Mahomes, we took the points with Butker, and Mooney matched Butker field goal for field goal for a little while. Mahomes picked up a few key 1^st downs with his legs, even though he’s not the fastest guy. 

And then, like MeCole Hardman, we ALL blacked out from excitement after the game-winning touchdown. The same MeCole Hardman, who did absolutely nothing during his 1^st go around with the Chiefs, and was shipped to the Jets, comes back and becomes a Super Bowl hero.

Super Bowl LVII Reaction

My initial reaction after watching the Eagles/Chiefs Super Bowl was… That game was back and forth. It was 1 of the more memorable and exciting Super Bowls in recent memory.

Some Super Bowls you know are going to be snoozers because it’s obvious who the dominant team was all year. The other team is the Cinderella story that no one saw coming. They’re just happy to be there.

Other Super Bowls, you do get the true 2 best teams in the league all year who battle it out for 3 hours. That was this year for sure.

I know this is going to sound blasphemous for a minute, but I felt like Jalen Hurts actually outplayed Patrick Mahomes in the 1^st half. I felt like the defense kept the Chiefs in the game. For example, Nick Bolton’s fumble return on the Quarterback Draw in the 1^st half.

And speaking of the Quarterback running, how many times did Jalen Hurts Quarterback Sneak? I lost count after about the 6^th or 7^th time.

Our newly built Offensive Line held up pretty well against the Eagles Defensive Line, who is considered the best in the NFL. Which they did not do against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a few years ago.

Much like any other Kansas Citian, I held my breath when Patrick Mahomes was crawling around on his hands and knees like I do at home, after being tackled around his bad ankle. Luckily, Super Bowl halftime’s double what it is in the normal regular-season (15 minutes most games, and 30 minutes during the Super Bowl). So, it gave him time to do whatever he needed to do to heal up.

I felt like the Chiefs offense got it together more in the 2^nd half. The defense was able to hold them to field goals in the 2^nd half also. That helps. Against high-powered offenses, like the Chiefs you can’t settle for field goals, and can’t punt the football. That’s why the Chiefs nor Eagles really punted the football, or kicked a lot of field goals. The flow of the game was geared toward whoever has the ball last will probably score, and win.

Finally, Harrison Butker hasn’t been his clutch self this year. He’s still good, but has his moments. He clanked one off the goal post. But drilled it at the end when it mattered most for the win.

Hello. My name is Brad Freeman. I'm listed as Eric Freeman. This is my Bill Walsh NFL coaching internship YouTube video companion with my application. I'm 37 years old and I live in Kansas City Missouri. And I’ve followed football since I was six years old. High school, college, and pro. NFL…I've even watched XFL, USFL. –um-- You name it. I've watched every league. Arena even. –um-- And so I'm a huge football fan that's an advanced fan looking to become a coach. I'm a hard worker, highly intelligent, I use the internet as a teaching tool, along with streaming services. –Um--. I'm a Game Pass subscriber. I've also compiled a 50-to-100-page book of notes, and sent it to various coaches around the NFL, and in high school, and in college, just to show my knowledge. My areas of expertise are the Dick LeBeau/Dom Capers 3-4. As well as the Rex Ryan 3-4. But I'm open and willing to learn about any system of defense, offense, or special teams. And I've networked with some big-name coaches and I'd like to really continue doing that because it will open other doors for me, in order to do ventures after I'm done coaching the game. I have, like I said, I have followed football since I was six years old, even though with my cerebral palsy, I've never played a physical down before. I’ve had friends, family, other coaches in other sports leagues that were my best friends in high school. They--. So, I've always been around it because they hung out with me.

So... I'm looking to expand my football platform because I'd really like to network with a lot of coaches and I believe that I could--. Players and coaches. I believe that I could be an asset to any team, if they just give me a chance. I promise! I won't let you down! And I hope all 32 teams will seriously look at my blog and this YouTube video, and give me an opportunity to show what I can do because even though I've had cerebral palsy my whole life. It only affects my physical—um-- things day to day. It doesn't affect my mental, or emotional—um-- things whatsoever. So, I've learned to compensate using the internet. And I will not let you down. And you would get a championship caliber coach, even though I may have some physical challenges. Because I have life experience that no one else does just by having to learn how to adapt in a world of fully able-bodied people with cerebral palsy.

If Al Davis Were Alive, He Would Definitely Be The Most Likely To Hire Me As An NFL Coach, Or Member Of The Player Personnel Staff

Even though I’ve grown up a Kansas City Chiefs fan my whole life, Chiefs and Raiders rivalry jokes aside.

I truly do feel like if Al Davis were alive, he would definitely be the most likely to hire me as an NFL coach, or member of the player personnel staff.

I know the last few years of his life were cause for people to make a mockery of him, but in his younger days.… As someone who follows the history of the game, he was really innovative and did a lot of things to move the league forward before they became trendy, or popular. Not to mention, unlike most owners these days, he didn’t make his money in order for him to own the team in some other venture in life. For example, to further articulate my previous points. Paul Allen who was the former owner of the Seattle Seahawks, and Portland Trailblazers. He made his fortune co-founding Microsoft with Bill Gates. Bud Adams who was the former owner of the Tennessee Titans, who were previously the Houston Oilers, made his money as an oil tycoon. Arthur Blank who owns the Atlanta Falcons, also owns Home Depot.

The constant battling with the Commissioner and league offices over various business and legal practices just overshadows all the other work Al Davis did for the sport of football.

Al Davis was an actual coach who became an owner. So much like myself, he actually knew what he was doing as far as building a team goes. He started out as the Wide Receivers Coach for the Los Angeles/San Diego Chargers from 1960 to 1962 under Sid Gillman. Who created the modern NFL passing game. Then he went to the Raiders in 1963 as the 1st successful Head Coach they had. Then he stepped down from doing that to be Commissioner of the rival league to the NFL known as the AFL, which the Oakland Raiders were a part of. After that, when both leagues merged in 1970, he went back to the Raiders and became 1 of the majority owners.

He had the 1st Latino Quarterback start for the Raiders, which is Tom Flores in the sixties. Tom Flores became the 1st Latino Head Coach, and simultaneously, 1st Hispanic individual who won a Super Bowl, with the Raiders in the eighties also. 1st black/brown skinned African-American Head Coach who was a former player for the Raiders during their heyday in the seventies under John Madden as the Head Coach, Art Shell. 1st woman CEO of an NFL franchise, Amy Trask. In the sixties, he was 1 of the 1st coaches to draft brown/black skinned African Americans from historically black colleges, which was seen as very radical. In today’s NFL the league is nothing but 70% players of black/brown African descent. So I definitely feel like if there’s one team that would take a shot on me, it would be the team led by Mr. Al Davis.

With my theater and film skills, let me channel my inner actor as I do my Al Davis impression in his trademark Brooklyn, New York accent. This is what I have a feeling our conversation would sound like.

Al Davis: “Dat Brad Freeman is 1 of da most innovative young people I’ve ever met. Too bad he’s a Kansas City Chiefs fan. Cause he’d make a great Raider. Nobody eats, sleeps, breathes, and lives his life every second of the day, to be the greatest of all time more than he does. He is the very embodiment of the commitment to excellence that it takes to be a champion around here. He’d lead da Raiders for the next 10 years at least. He told me his goals were to do nothing but be the best and be remembered for all time at whatever profession he does. I asked him the 1st thing you do to fix da team? He said, he was gonna fix da Quarterback. I looked him dead in the eye, and said, Brad Freeman… You’re gonna dominate your profession.”

Kansas City Chiefs defeat Tampa Bay Buccaneers

*I realize for the last 5 years, I have picked some combination of Chiefs, Saints, Patriots, and Buccaneers.

But to be honest, they are the 4 best teams in the NFL for the last 5 years. The Patriots have been good year in, year out, for the last 20 years.

So with that being said, as someone who’s followed football since he was 6 years old. I’m going with a Chiefs/Buccaneers rematch in the Super Bowl. I feel like the Chiefs rebuilt offensive line will be the key to victory.

Super Bowl LV Reaction

I’m just floored how much we came out flat, and basically forgot how to play football apparently.

In all seriousness though. The story of this game was injuries. Especially to our Offensive Line. Patrick Mahomes ran the equivalent of 400 yards sideways, and backwards. He had no time to throw. We need to replace them ALL as soon as possible.

With the 1^st moves in the off-season being on the Offensive Line. You should then focus on replacing our Linebackers. They were atrocious. That’s why we played Nickel and Dime defense a majority of the time all season.

Don’t get me wrong. We had a great season! But it amazes me that we got this far with glaring weaknesses, due to injuries, COVID, opt outs, and lack of depth.

I have a hard time believing that the Chiefs played great all season, and didn’t think they were going to lay an egg in the most important game of the year. We lit up everybody, but you can only be lucky for so long.

Kudos to the Buccaneers. Their defense stopped our offense. This is why I tell everybody, yeah it looks fun to score 50 points a game, but if you can’t stop anybody, it won’t matter. Defense wins championships. Offense just tells you by how much.

Sports Stadium Music

So as many of you know, 1 of my aspirations is to be an NFL defensive coordinator. Those of you who know me, also know that I prefer hard rock, punk rock, and heavy metal music, and that it is very much my own thing. So in this age of the Covid pandemic, and no fans in stadiums. The teams are using hard rock, punk rock, and heavy metal songs to make it difficult for the road team’s offense to hear. Which allows the home team defense to feed off the energy, that they would otherwise get from a full stadium crowd. Not only could I hear the foreign-language code words that made up each play call, but I could hear each song through the public address announcer speakers. It made me giggle because people use to go “oh I can’t believe you like that.” And make the occasional snide comment. But yet sports stadiums across the country use it to pump up their athletes, when it’s much more acceptable to be a fan of rap, country and pop these days. After each play call, I started to pick up on which play was going to be ran by both teams, and then I recognized the 30 second snippets of songs being used in the stadium that I grew up listening to. Pantera, good Metallica, Anthrax, Alice in Chains, Danzig etc. so it cracks me up hysterically!

*1^st off, I realize this is the 3^rd year in a row I picked a Chiefs/Saints Super Bowl. But much like the elusive San Francisco 49ers/Buffalo Bills Super Bowl that never materialized in the nineties, these are the 2 best teams on paper, but then they start playing games, and other teams wither away, or show themselves to be better than projected by year’s end.
 
*Again on paper the Saints look like the obvious representative of the NFC. But will they be able to maintain their usual production, or have they started to decline, and show their deficiencies due to the last couple of fluky and miraculous collapses of the previous few years?

*Being that the 49ers lost last year’s Super Bowl, will they be able to repeat their success, or like most teams that lose the Super Bowl the previous year, will San Francisco have a drastic fall off and find it too difficult to return to the Super Bowl?

*In New England, now that the Brady/Belichick era is over, does that mean that the Patriots dynasty is over? The New England Patriots as of 2001 are considered 1 of the most successful teams of all time, but much like the 49ers dynasty of the eighties and nineties, is this the end of their winning ways? When will the dynasty collapse? I’m not implying that Cam Newton isn’t talented. His skill set just is totally different from Tom Brady. McDaniels and Belichick preferred style is a pocket passer. However, if anyone can get Cam Newton to a Super Bowl by playing within himself, it’s Bill Belichick. He is considered the modern Vince Lombardi after all.

Just got done watching the fully restored versions of Super Bowl I and Super Bowl IV via my NFL Game Pass package and YouTube. Watching the Super Bowl IV post game as I’m writing this. Super Bowl prediction 40-37 KC Chiefs win! #SBLIV
